Terms & Conditions

The agreement between you and Code Forger for using Codeforge. Last updated 10 August 2026.

1. Who you are contracting with

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Codeforge, the barcode and QR code generation service available at codeforger.app. Codeforge is operated by Code Forger ("Code Forger", "we", "us"). When you use the service or buy a plan, you are entering into an agreement with Code Forger.

You can reach us at support@codeforger.app for any question about these terms.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing the site, creating an account, or continuing to use any generator, bulk tool or API, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company; if you are using Codeforge as an individual, you confirm you are of legal age in your country.

3. The service

Codeforge generates 1D barcodes (UPC-A, EAN-13, Code 128, Code 39 and similar symbologies) and 2D QR codes as PNG, SVG or PDF files. Single-code generation runs in your browser and is free. Paid plans add bulk and CSV generation, dynamic QR codes with scan analytics, and API access, as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase.

Codes you generate are yours to use. You are responsible for checking that a generated code scans correctly and that any GTIN, UPC or EAN number you encode is legitimately assigned to you by GS1 or another issuing body. Codeforge does not issue, register or validate ownership of product numbers.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse Codeforge. In particular you must not: use it for any unlawful purpose; encode content that is fraudulent, deceptive, malicious or intended to phish, distribute malware, or impersonate another business; infringe anyone's intellectual property, including uploading logos or artwork you have no rights to; counterfeit product identifiers or apply codes to goods you are not authorised to label; send spam or unsolicited bulk messaging via generated codes; or interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including probing, scanning, scraping, circumventing rate limits or plan restrictions, or attempting to access other users' data.

We may remove content, filter or refuse a request, disable a dynamic code destination, and suspend accounts where we reasonably believe this section has been breached. Rights holders can report an infringing code or logo to support@codeforger.app and we will investigate and take down where appropriate; repeat infringement results in account termination.

5. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and API keys confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account. Please provide accurate account and billing information and keep it up to date, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Licence and restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Codeforge for the duration of your plan and within its stated limits. You may not reverse engineer the service, resell or redistribute access to it, wrap the API as a competing generator service, or circumvent technical or quota limits.

7. Intellectual property

Code Forger retains all right, title and interest in the Codeforge service, including its software, API, documentation, design and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the service to you. You retain ownership of the data you enter and the logos or artwork you upload; you grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

8. Payments, subscriptions and taxes

Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or annually in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page or the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Billing, payment methods, invoicing, currency, sales tax and VAT, cancellations and refunds are handled by Paddle and governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's Refund Policy. See our own Refund Policy for our money-back guarantee.

9. Service availability

We work to keep Codeforge available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that every generated code will be suitable for every scanner, printer or retailer specification. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Always test a printed sample before a production run.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay for your plan, create a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate the acceptable use section. You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. On termination, your right to use the service ends; you may export your saved codes for 30 days, after which your account data may be deleted.

11. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Code Forger is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, reprinting or labelling costs, or loss of goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

You agree to indemnify Code Forger against claims arising from content you encode or upload, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, for material changes affecting paid plans, notify account holders by email. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

13. General

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at Code Forger's place of business, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
